It is my goal to work to the very best of my ability to improve any troubled dog, no matter how difficult the situation. This is the foundation of this academy, and what drives me to train.
We focus on developing a good bond with your dog, using balanced training techniques, encouragement and lots of positive reinforcement. We love praise, food motivation, toy motivation as well as clicker tricks and lots of play, all while understanding the importance of clear communication and discipline. Each dog is different, therefore each dog is trained differently. L & L K9 Academy utilizes a unique approach that focuses on providing dogs with clear, timely and consistent feedback about their behavior.

Health & Exercise
Exercise is critical to your dogs well being. A healthy, tired dog, is a happy dog. Routine walking with your dog is a great way to communicate, bond and understand eachother, as well as the benefits of regular physical activity.
Balancing work and play is important in the human world, and is also true in the canine world. Discipline, as well as play time, are both vital to an emotionally balanced canine companian.
As dog owners, it is very important to the health of your animal to receive proper medical treatment, yearly vet visits and necessary vaccines. We always want to first rule out any medical issues. See your vet.
Puppies
Bringing a puppy home is a very important time. Bonding with and getting to know eachother are a very special time for pet owners. Puppies hold a special place in all of us. Im pretty sure we are genetically wired to smile when we see a pup.
Although puppies are tons of fun, they can also come with many headaches. Let us help develop a program suited to the best needs of both you and your pup. Whether you are strugging with integrating your pup with his/her new home, having some specific issues, like crate or potty training, or just want to make the whole process a lot happier, let us help you on your road to happiness! We can work together to develop a plan just for you.
Obedience
Having basic obedience is key to solving many behavior issues. Not only is it a fundamental technique we use to rehabilitate dogs, its also an amazing feeling to have a dog that listens.
Our training and coaching is geared to your dogs full understanding of basic obedience, as well as what his/her job may be at any given time.
It's never too soon to start training, both people and puppies. Even puppies and children can be well behaved and have good manners. Bonus - Early training will often deter many issues later on and build confidence!
Body Language
What is your dog saying?
Properly reading what your dog is saying, through his body language, can give us lots of useful information. It can also help to avoid many stressful situations.
Early warning signs are often shown, as well as overlooked. If you are experiencing difficulties with your dog, you could be overlooking or misreading some signs.
There are many behaviors dogs will show in different situations. Prevention is far better at this stage of the game than waiting until a dog is forced to bite.
Socializing
Many people misunderstand the meaning of socialize. Proper socializing simply means exposing your dog to many different experiences and places in life, while doing your best to keep those experiences positive.
Proper socialization does NOT require "doggy platime" or "dog to dog greetings". Meeting other dogs, while on a leashed walk, is not necessary for your dogs well being.
Having your dog walk past another dog, while behaving and paying attention to YOU, is the best experience, both you and your dog could ask for.
Aggression
If your dog is showing signs of aggression, be it over food, toys or towards other dogs, you probably are looking for help. These situations can be very stressful to a pet owner. Often, we are at our wits end, not knowing where to turn. -- Well, you've found it.
